I WILL REACH MY GOAL-Digging Deep By Bro Kenneth Ilenre
It is one thing to set a goal for oneself in life, but it is quite another thing to reach the goal set. Many never make it to the goal they set for themselves and have to live all their lives in frustrations. If it is true in the physical, it is even more so in the spiritual. In fact, our Lord Jesus Christ warned that any step that could divert our attention from reaching the goal must be avoided. Luke 9:62. May the Lord, through this study, enable us to reach our goals in Jesus Name. Amen.
1. ONCE YOU SET A SPIRITUAL GOAL FOR YOURSELF, THREE THINGS COULD HAPPEN
Some examples of spiritual goals are:
a. Read the entire Bible. Allocate a few minutes each day to read several verses of the Bible (you can join a Bible reading challenge).
b. Actively take part in church services.
c. Make daily prayer a habit.
d. Keep a spiritual journal.
e. Practise forgiveness.
f. Give back.
g. Converse daily with God.
h. Read encouraging books.
i. Win souls for Christ.
Once you set a spiritual goal for yourself, three things could happen, namely: (i) the enemy may put obstacles in your way or use diversionary tricks, (ii) God may test your determination, and (iii) if you pass God’s test, He will intervene to help you reach your goal. Matt. 10:22; Eph. 4:14; Heb. 13:9; Gen. 13:10-11; Gen. 22:1-8; Job. 17:9; 1 Pet. 1:13; Rev. 3:11; 2 Kings 2:1-8.
2. GOD IS READY TO HELP IF YOU ARE DETERMINED
Passing the Divine test depends on how determined you are to reach your goal. God will intervene to make sure that you arrive. He did it in the case of Abraham, Caleb, and Joshua, the Shunammite woman, Elisha, Peter and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. He is willing to do the same for you also. James 5:11; Genesis 22:10-13; 1:5-8; Numbers 14:28-30; 2 Kings 4:25-35; 2 Kings 2:9-12; Luke 22:31-32; Luke 9:51; Luke 22:41-43; Romans 15:25-26; Acts 14:19-22; Acts 20:22-24; Romans 8:35-39.
